Testimony to all

Dear Family and Friends,

I just had the wonderful opportunity to hear from Elder Holland! Right now I am so filled with the spirit I could not bear to keep it to myself.  I have so many glorious thoughts and feelings from my Heavenly Father. I wish I could share them all with you... I am so overcome with God's love, grace, and divine spirit. I bare my personal witness that He lives, He is God, our great Father In Heaven, and He guides us all back to our home in heaven.  He has given us the Gospel of Jesus Christ so that we may learn of true joy, happiness, and love. As so that we may have strength to grow in our efforts to become like Him.
Tonight as I sat and pondered the words of Elder Holland there were several things that came to my mind.  One of which beginning after he made the comment that all the Prophets, Kings, and leaders of past dispensations who knew that the gospel they shared would be forgotten and lost still taught with faith and authority from God because they knew that when we came in these latter-days and shared the message, we would not fail. I will not fail my God! His light and love burns from the deepest part of my soul! God, despite what the world thinks a young man at the age of 18 can do, has called me to go out and share his light with the world! He has trusted me with his whole church, his gospel he has put in my hands, with all his trust and love.  I will not fail God!  I invite all to hear the words of God, to come into His church so that they might learn of Him and that through his son, Jesus Christ they can accomplish anything in this life and can, one day, return to their loving Heavenly Father, as He stands at the gate with His arms wide open as he welcomes us all home!  I bare my solid witness before God, the world, and all mankind that Christ is our Savior. That He has drunk of the bitter cup for each one of us and that if we will come unto Him, believe and take upon us His name by the Holy Power of God and endure to the end, keeping and eye single to His glory and grace, then we will return to God, exalted as Kings and Queens in the High Heavens.
This is my testimony and my conviction of Christ, His gospel, His church, and His father, even God our Heavenly Father.  I bare it to you with all my heart, mind and strength; having received my personal conviction of the truthfulness of these things and I admonish all to hear, learn, and come unto Christ.  I say these things with love and deep devotion to my Father in Heaven, and I do sat these things in the name of his begotten son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, Amen.

1st pic is me and Elder Pringle
2nd pic is me and Elder Chow bundling up to get sack breakfast before service. it was about 5 degrees outside! A bit cold for a arizona native if you know what I mean.

first pic is me elder jenson and elder hakes
2nd is a pic of a bunch of the flags with the american flag. Our flag was held by elder hakes

Hey sorry Im not going to have a whole lot of time to email today :) I have so much I wish I could say but I definitley don't have time to say it all. Anyways sounds like youve been having a lot of late nights! Don't work yourself too hard Im not there to help :) Get the important stuff done and Ill be back in 2 years to help with the rest!
Anyways this week has been super busy! We have been learning a ton, you can tell the teachers are preparing to teach all the new missionaries for only nine weeks. Often times it feels like they are just hooking us up to a fire hose and pouring as much information into us as possible, lol but its super good! Ive grown so much and have really enjoyed every moment. It is crazy to see the power of the Holy Ghost in every moment of every day. Recently I have been trying to just go by the promptings and feelings of the Holy Ghost and I can really feel him literally leading me. I challenge you all at home to take the opportunity to put all your trust in the lord and give everything you have to helping him and you will be amazed at the blessings he will give you and the wonderful experiences you will be able to have.
This past week the older districts all headed out to Korea. I have to admit I was pretty jealous. I definitely wish I was headed there:) I have this burning passion to just get out and share everything I have learned with everyone I can come in contact with. It is truly remarkable how much the lord can show you and teach you if you will open your eyes to his spirit and humble yourself and do everything centered on him. He will help you to grow in ways you didn't know you could. Often he will cut you down and shape you so that you can be even more humble and have the opportunity to really get to grow even more. I know that he loves each and every one of us so very much and I can testify that he wants to help us and bless us in every way he can. I heard a quote the other day that has really inspired me: " The lord is easy to please but hard to satisfy." I think this is so true because everytime we do something in the service of God he pours out numberless amounts of blessings into our lives and helps us grow so much, however because we have done this he knows he can trust us to do more and I think this is just the greatest blessing to recieve. I know that everytime I do something for the Lord I feel of his deep love and grace and I am so grateful I can be his servant. One challenge I would like to make would be to post something, maybe your testimony on facebook, and look at the opportunities for missionary work that will unfold. Say a prayer and remember how much God loves you!
I love you all so very much! Thankyou for everything :) Let grammy and mom know I got their Dear Elders and I loved them :) Those are probably the easiest way for me to stay in touch with everyone just cuz I dont have enough time to email everyone on p-day :) Anyways I love you and I hope you all know that God loves you so very much and is watching over each one of you for me :)
Im headed to go to a devotional to hear Elder Holland speak!!!!! :) :) :) WOOT WOOT! So excited!!!

Jan 8th 2013

Here is the latest... I've noticed as his Korean gets better, his English suffers... So, this is a GOOD Sign!!! The best is not his language growth, but the spiritual experiences and the love of Christ and other people that re growing, can ya tell we're proud of him?  Anyway, here is his latest, typos and all! Enjoy :)

So the MTC has been interesting lately. I don't know if you heard but it got hit by a bad case of the Flu! Tons of elders were sick and the whole place felt like it was on quarantine. It was interesting. We all got to exercise our priesthood often and we really got to feel the healing power of the spirit. It was a really cool experience. Also tomorro starts the big wave of new missionaries coming in! They are expecting about 1000 new missionaries coming in just tomorro!! isn't that crazy?! One of them will be Josh! lol.
So today I got to go to the temple for the first time since Ive been in the MTC. It was so amazing! It was cool to feel the spirit and then to have all the elders and sisters from my zone gathered in the celestial room. It gave me a glimpse of just how amazing the reunion will be when we all return to our father in heaven and how much light we have to offer to the world.
This past week may not have been the easiest week; however I have definitely grown a ton in the spirit! and a little in stature too ;) lol. It has been a little overwhelming as we have decided as a district to no longer speak english from 12-6. But it is definitely helping my Korean to grow. Also this past Saturday me and Elder Chow had our first opportunity to teach what is called TRC. Im not sure what the it stands for but it is basically where we get to teach a member Korean from somewhere in the area. It is totally in Korean and I have to admit at first I was a little bit overwhelmed. It was basically like teaching a 40 min lesson in sunday school. Wish would be great until I found out we werent allowed to speak English. It started out with us going through what we had planned in Korean but we soon realized we had only prepared about 20 minutes of a lesson. Thats when the miracle happened! Out of no where I totally felt the spirit of the Gift of Tongues totally come in. I started baring my testimony in Korean and everything just started spewing out! It was so powerful and then Elder Chow started doing the same. By the end all three of us: me, Elder Chow, and the member were in tears. The spirit was so strong it was amazing how much all three of us grew. Once we had left the room the member was allowed to speak English. He told us how powerful our message had been and how it had really strengthened his relationship with Christ and helped him realize the power of revelation through prayer! It was fantastic! That was exactly the thing we had set for a goal to accomplish. He then asked us how long we had been learning Korean and when we said almost 3 and a half weeks he was astonished and merely said that the Korean people certainly will be able to feast from our spirit. It was an extremely powerful experience I will never forget!
Anyways I love you all and I hope everything is going well! I hope to hear from you all soon and can't wait to hear how everything is going!

Please send letters :)

FYI -  while I am in the MTC there is this thing called DearElder.com where people can basically email messages to us for free and they show up to me as a letter. They just go online and type in my MTC address:
Elder Tyler J. Bigler
MTC Mailbox #251
KOR-DAE 0225
2005N 900E
Provo, UT 84604

and send it. Then I can write them a letter back! But I would absolutely love to hear from everyone! That way I can write them all back throughout other times and get to talk to everyone :)

New Year

Tyler has been in the MTC now for a few weeks, he is picking up the Korean language and enjoying his associations with the other missionaries and the opportunity he has to serve them as their district leader.  Below are excerpts from his latest e-mail, enjoy!

"So the Korean is coming pretty well! We have about 6 native Koreans here and I have been able to communicate with them and have conversations with them. It's crazy that just about 3 weeks ago I only knew about 3 words in Korean! Now I am praying, baring my testimony, teaching discussions, and having conversations completely in Korean! I have no doubt that that is due to the overwhelming power of God.
So my focus for the past week has really been on understanding the different gifts of the Holy Ghost. I never really undrstood before the all consuming power of the Holy Ghost! I feel like if using the Holy Ghost was like using a gift card, then this past week I have definitely rubbed off almost the entire magnetic strip from swiping it so much on the eternal card reader. Just the same I have felt its power come into my life in ways that I could never completely explain. It is crazy how when you turn your focus to God your mind becomes so much sharper and clearer. I feel as though I have learned so much and grown so much in the past few weeks that I would never have been able to get to the point that I am today without the power of God being in my life. I have gained a testimony that through everything, if there is ever a time that we come up short, or maybe are lacking in a particular talent that all we need to do is go to our Heavenly father, and through him we will be able to develope those talents and grow! I glorify God and bare my testimony that I know he is the one true God. And that he loves us with all of his heart. A love not found here on earth. but only in the eternities. I know that if we put our faith in him, all things are possible!

This week I have had several opportunities to see the spirit move in and heal the broken lives of people around me. It is amazing to see that healing power and to know that it comes from God! I have had many glorious experiences as I have been a district leader and I have to say I am so glad God has humbled me to be in this position of great service. I have come to learn the glorious blessings of hard work and diligence and I can't wait to give the Lord all I can and serve his Children in Korea. I know that Satan is scared, and I am doing everything I can to make sure that he is going to get a whole slew of determined missionaries ready to show the Koreans of the great eternal light that comes from Christ!

Anyways I hope everything is going well at home! And I can't wait to hear from you again!
I love you
Love,
Elder Bigler "
